mother leaves 18 month old in a boiling car, goes to audition at strip club


A woman has been arrested in Nashville for leaving her 13 month old child locked in the back of a hot car for 30 minutes while she auditioned to be a stripper in a strippers club.

Kelsey McMurtry 24, works as a bikini model and MMA ring girl, and was at Deja Vu strip club on Thursday to audition for a dancing job. Kelsey McMurtry left her baby girl in her car outside the club under the supervision of one Summer Taylor, 19.



The Police were soon alerted to the toddler after passersby raises the alarm. The baby's was immediately ushered out of the strippers club to open up her car.

The windows were fully rolled up and the toddler was sweating profusely under 72 degrees Fahrenheit but it was estimated to have been 100 degrees inside the car. The toddler has taken to a hospital for care and is now with child services.

Taylor told police she intermittently left the child unsupervised so as to see McMurtry's audition, never being away for more than a few minutes, but witnesses told police she had been left unattended for 30 minutes.

Kelsey McMurtry was charged with child neglect and criminal impersonation after giving police a false identity. She is being held on a $40,000 bond and due for court April 18.
