According to the police, the 48-year old man identified as Mashudu allegedly had been raping his mentally derailed son since his wife died.
The taboo became public knowledge after neighbors caught the father having sex with his 21 year old son in their home.
An angry mob descended on both the father and the son, nearly killing them. The mentally derailed son couldn't stomach the beating, spoke up, tells the angry mob that he was the victim and that it was his father that has been raping him since his mother died.
The angry mob then left the son and continue to beating the father. The angry mob then burned down Mashudu’s house and exiled him from their town, but the police saved him and kept him in custody.
The father admitted raping his son for years, adding that he was trying to heal him of his mental illness.
