30 year old Reshma Patil lodged a complaint against her colleague and former friend, Shyam Mandal, 25, for abducting her son.
The police through investigation laid a trap at Surat railway station where it believed Shyam mandal would be passing through. Shyam was nabbed and arrested at the railway station
The kidnapped boy was then rescued and reunited with his mother on Mother’s Day.
The boy's mother explained why his friend kidnapped her son, in her statement, she told the police that they had known each other since the time they were colleagues at an Hospital 5 years ago. She said their friendship became stronger when he started visiting her at her house. She said some years later they both changed jobs working at different places.
The boy's mother further said that their relationship turned sour 6 months ago and she decided to cut off ties with him. However, she further said her friend did not take the cutting of ties likely, he then kept harassing her calling her frequently and asking her to reconsider her decision.
The boy's mother then said she decided to block his phone number. When he realized his phone number has been blocked. he then became angry and decided to teach her a lesson.
The boy's mother further said he knew she always drop off her son at her sister’s residence for day care before leaving for work; she said he came to her sister’s residence around 5.30 pm and told her sister that he would be taking my son out for a stroll.
My sister was unaware of the strained ties between us two, so she let him take my son out for a stroll.
It was when he didn't show up with my son that my sister started panicking, she then called me, i quickly came home from there we approached the police station.
