The acting Governor of Kano State, Nigeria, Hafiz
Abubakar has today ordered the shutting down of Hassan Gwarzo
College after reports surfaced that homosexual
acts were widespread at the said institution.
The acting governor directed that the shutting
down of the school should be implemented immediately. In addition, Mr.
Abubakar disclosed that the state government had appointed a
14 member committee to investigate the allegations that students at
the school engaged in homosexual acts. The committee is expected to submit its
report within two weeks.
Nigeria Law bans same sex relationship, marriage, etc. Any
violation of this sort attracts a
14years jail sentence.
