Ibinabo Fiberesima Egbuka
President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Ibinabo Fiberesima Egbuka has been ordered to vacate the exalted office of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the National Secretary of AGN, Femi Durojaiye, the actress will step down as the president and Emeka Ike, who has been battling over the position with Ibinabo, will take over.
The statement reads: “The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos at the application and argument of Counsel to Actors Guild of Nigeria, Barrister. Peter Andor Oboyi, struck out Ibinabo’s and Board of Trustees, BoT suit challenging the nullification of her election to the Presidency of AGN and also challenging the legitimacy of the Presidency of Emeka Ike. The implication of this judgment is that Emeka Ike led exco remains the only authentic and lawful leaders of Actors Guild of Nigeria.
The Court reiterated the position of the judicial authority that, Ibinabo Fiberesima Egbuka and her exco members, Board of Trustees to surrender all AGN assets and vacate the office of the Actors Guild both at the National and State level and that Emeka Ike and his exco takes over.
