Woman Stabbed To Death by Unidentified Soldier


The 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Owena Barracks, Akure, Ondo State has begun investigation into the death of a 25-year-old woman, Adeyemo Juliana, who was killed by an unidentified soldier. The Public Relations Officer confirms the incident to newsmen on Monday, said the incident is unfortunate, he however denied the suspect was a soldier.

Juliana, seller of network voucher in the barracks, was found in a pool of blood in her apartment in Block 5, barracks on Sunday, March 13, 2016. The husband of the deceased, Mr. Wale Adeyemo, who said he was not around when the incident happened, alleged that the killer carried out the act on his wife in the presence of her two children, noting that there were many cuts on her body which indicated that she was stabbed to death.

According to him, “One of our children, Dayo, a four-year-old, said a soldier entered into the apartment and killed his mother on the day. “As my wife struggled with her killer, she and the children cried for help, but no one came around, the killer then stole all the money in the house and the recharge cards that she sells. When the deceased husband was asked why the matter wasn't reported at the state police, since his wife was a civilian living in the barracks, the husband of the deceased  told journalists that he was told by the leadership of the brigade not to report the matter at the police station, and that army authority would take accurate charge of the matter .

Leeds United Legend Norman Hunter Dies after Contracting Coronavirus

Norman Hunter nicknamed Bites Yer Legs, was a key player in Leeds' most successful era. He won two league titles during a 14-year first-team career at Elland Road, and was a non-playing member of England's 1966 World Cup-winning squad.  Hunter Norman was admitted to hospital on 10 April after testing positive for coronavirus. Hunter joined Leeds aged 15 and went on to play 726 matches in all competitions for the club - the fourth-highest individual total in their history. Hunter won the First Division title in 1969 and 1974, helped them beat Arsenal in the 1968 League Cup final, and then returned to Wembley in 1972 as Leeds defeated the Gunners to win the FA Cup.
