A neighbor who alerted the Police said the couples body were found dead on the floor, the husband was naked while the wife wore a T shirt and tied a wrapper. A bottle of palm oil was also found on the floor in the sitting room.
Neighbors of the deceased told the Police the couples were seen shortly before their death and they were not looking sick.
A neighbor by the name Salewa said she saw the husband in the morning greeting everybody but was shocked and surprised to hear their death in the afternoon .
Salewa alleged that a bowl of Pap and Beans cake were placed on a table beside the deceased in their living room.
Salewa also stressed that the bowl of Pap and beans may have been poisoned. Police source said that the couple may also have died of food poison.
Th Police said they saw palm oil in their mouths and it may have been that when they were having stomach pain that was when they went for the palm oil.
The Police also said they also discovered that the death happened shortly after they have taken the Pap and the beans cake.
The Police have deposited the corpses at the State Specialists Hospital in Akure. The Police also said no arrest have been made yet. The couples bodies have been deposited at the hospital for autopsy.
