An Elephant has been killed on India when it came into contact with one of the community's unauthorized electric wires

Hundreds of villagers gathered to mourn the painful death of the adult elephant who died of electrocution after it wandered into the community looking for something to eat.

Villagers decorated the elephant's body with paints and plants as part of prayers as it was laid to rest in a massive grave.

An official said that the scarcity of food and illegal encroachment of forest may have forced the wild tje Elephant to desperately seek food in a populated area.
