Teacher Who Had Sex and got Pregnant by her 13 Year Old Student Faces 25 Years in Jail if Found Guilty

A 24 year old teacher who had sex with a minor would be sent to 25 years in prison if found guilty.

Alexandria Vera turned herself in to police on Wednesday after a warrant was issued for her arrest on charges of continuous sexual abuse of a minor. 

She admits at a court hearing that she had continuous sex with a 13 year old pupil and even got pregnant with a child.

The Judge told Vera she was to have no contact with the victim or anyone under the age of 17. He also ordered Vera who is out on $100,000 bail to always wear a GPS monitor and to stay away from the school.

Alexandria Vera, a former Aldine School District middle school teacher also banned from accessing the internet and placed on a curfew to remain in her home between 8pm and 7am each day.

The court heard Vera was fired from her job as a teacher after the allegations of sleeping with a minor emerged. The court also heard that she now has a new job where she uses a computer.

The court said it is okay using a computer at work, but whenever she gets home, no internet. The court also read she is not allowed contact with anyone under the age of 17.

Vera told the prosecutor that the minor's parent knew about their relationship. She said that the boy's family were supportive and excited when they were told she was pregnant but the teacher ended up having an abortion after she got nervous when the Child Protective Services showed up at school to question her about the relationship.

Alexandria Vera said first denied the pregnancy and relationship when first approached by the Child Protective Services. Her phone was forensically analyzed by police, implicating messages between Vera and the minor were found.

Alexandria Vera who is scheduled to appear in court again July 12 faces 25 years to life in prison with no possibility of parole if found guilty.
