Giant Goliath Frogs Now Endangered


The Goliath frog is the largest living frog on Earth. The Goliath frog specimens can grow up to 32 cm in length and can weigh up to 3.25 kg. This species has a relatively small habitat range in Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea.

Hunters armed with guns and a torch take to the rivers at night, so when they spot the giant frogs eye, they shoot at them, killing them for food.


Nobody knows how many are left in the world, but we can be sure that the population is decreasing because of habitat loss, poaching and pollution.
