NFF to the Nigerian Players, gives us the $390,000 Japanese donation, Mikel says No

The Nigeria team led by Mikel Obi won the Olympic bronze medal in the Rio Olympic games by beaten Honduras 3 goals to 2.

The team displayed courage and oneness after all the hardship they faced before the games kicked started in Rio.

This encouraged a Japanese money mogul and plastic surgeon to travel all the way from Tokyo to Brazil to cheer theTeam and also to reward them with hundreds of thousands of the American US dollars.

Japanese plastic surgeon Katsuya Takasu donated a whooping $390,000, to the Nigerian team who took the bronze medal in the games.

The Nigerian Football Federation then asked the team to give the donation to them, Mikel speaking for the team said no.

On Saturday, the NFF issued a statement quoting president Amaju Pinnick as saying it was mischievous to say they planned to use the donation from the Japanese plastic surgeon Katsuya Takasu to offset mounting debts.

The Japanese fan issued two Citibank cheques. one $200,000, in favour of coach Samson Siasia and $190,000 in favour of Mikel Obi.

The Nigerian team said they had resolved the matter among themselves and they have decided they wont surrender the cash to the NFF. They insisted everyone in the team would get a fair share of the money.
