Spiritual healer tricked woman into having sex with him to save her marriage

30 year old spiritual healer from Birmingham tricked a 28 year old woman he was treating into having sex with him to solve her marital issues and then demanded $7,500.

The fake spiritualist, Syed Shah convinced the 28 year old mother that she could purify her relationship with her husband by having sex with him twice. The 28 year old woman said the fake spiritualist slept with her twice.

The woman said she soon felt uncomfortable about the sexual activity and began researching Shah. After then she found a local news article detailing how the charlatan had already served a two year jail term for sexually assaulting another woman, she immediately called the police.

The 30 year old spiritualist was then arrested and charged to court afterward. The spiritualist has been found guilty of two charges of rape by deception and one of fraud after undergoing trial at Birmingham Crown Court.

The fake spiritualist was jailed for 12 years and will also be registered as a sex offender for life. He was also mandated to pay $12,600 in compensation.

The 28 year old woman had been married for 3 years and had a young son. She started having troubles with her marriage, she was then introduced to Syd Shah, the fake spiritualist after which he claimed he could save her marriage. 

Shah, the fake spiritualist began by sacrificing a goat and getting the victim to perform daily spiritual readings. After she protested and said nothing has changed in her marriage. Shah, the fake spiritualist then told her that more rituals of a sexual nature needed to take place and money has to be paid to secure success.

The court heard how Shah raped the woman twice before the she paid the asked 7,500 dollars. Shah denied rape by deception and extortion, arguing that he met the woman through her brother with her consent. Shah also claimed that during one visit the woman asked him to kill her mother-in-law.
